Chief Of Turkish General Staff Arrives In Northern Cyprus

LEFKOSA - Turkish General Staff Chief Gen. Yasar Buyukanit arrived in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on Wednesday upon a formal invitation by TRNC President Mehmet Ali Talat.
Gen. Buyukanit was welcomed to Lefkosa by Speaker of the TRNC Parliament Fatma Ekenoglu, TRNC Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer, Turkish Ambassador in Lefkosa Turkekul Kurttekin, TRNC Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Turgay Avci, Commander of the Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces Gen. Hayri Kivrikoglu and several other high level officials.
Gen. Buyukanit will meet President Talat, Ekenoglu and Soyer on Wednesday. He will also have meetings with the first president of the TRNC, Rauf Denktas, and Turkish Ambassador in Lefkosa Turkekul Kurttekin.
Gen. Buyukanit is scheduled to visit the Girne Bogaz Martyrdom on Wednesday.
