ISTANBUL (CIHAN) - Besiktas Sport Club finalized the transfer of Norwegian hit man John Carew on Wednesday.
Norwegian striker Carew signed a three -year contract with Besiktas on Wednesday in its club headquarters in the presence of club vice chairman Kývanc Oktay and club director Burak Kalkavan.
Carew posed with Besiktas jersey. The former Valencia player said that he joined a great club. "I am happy about joining Besiktas and I will be proud to play for Besiktas."
The 25-year-old Norwegian striker signed a three-year contract with the Black Eagles. Besiktas has an option to extend the contract one more year. Besiktas will pay a € 3.5 million transfer fee to the Spanish team Valencia.
John Carew, who played for Italian Roma on loan last year, will receive 1.6 million euros annual wage.
The Norwegian prolific striker arrived in Istanbul yesterday and signed the official contract today. He will join the team which now holding training camp in Austria.
In spite of other lucrative offers, Carew reportedly preferred to join Besiktas to play under coach Vicente Del Bosque.
