ISTANBUL - Greek Public Order Minister Georgios Voulgarakis visited on Wednesday Fener Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew in Istanbul.
Prior to the meeting, Voulgarakis, who is in Turkey as the official guest of Turkish Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu, told reporters that he discussed cooperation in security between Turkey and Greece with Aksu.
Voulgarakis said that two countries signed a security cooperation agreement at the end of positive meetings.
Bartholomew said that not only Greek Prime Minister Costas Caramanlis, but also Greek ministers paying visits to Turkey were visiting the Patriarchate, and noted that those visits showed devotion and respect of the Greek people to the Fener Greek Orthodox Patriarchate.
Greek Public Order Minister Voulgarakis, who arrived in Turkey on Monday, met Aksu on Tuesday. Two ministers later signed an agreement on cooperation in security in Istanbul.
