Irish Ambassador Looking Forward To See Turkey In EU

BURSA - Irish Ambassador to Turkey Anthony Mannix said Tuesday they cannot wait to see the day when Turkey will become a full member of the EU.
Turkey`s membership negotiations will not be an easy process, Mannix told Celal Sonmez, the chairman of the Executive Board of Chamber of Commerce & Industry in northwestern province of Bursa (BTSO).
Mannix said it was easy to become an EU member 35 years ago and there were not as many sanctions and standards in those years as today.
Turkey is doing what it is supposed to do, he told.
Mannix said there are not any European countries that are aware of the advantages Turkey will bring to the union after it becomes a member, and people living in EU member states should see what is going on in Turkey.
