BATMAN - Reza Hossaini, the representative of the United Nations Children`s Fund (UNICEF) to Turkey, opened a school in Sason town of southeastern province of Batman on Tuesday.
Hossaini was designated to this position in January, and this is his first visit to the Southeastern Anatolia.
The school in Sason town was constructed with contributions of UNICEF and various firms.
Before the inauguration, Hossaini met sub-governor Vehbi Bakir of Sason and said the numerical difference between the girl and boy students in elementary schools has diminished and qualified it a big success.
Hossaini later visited an elementary school in Heybeli village in Sason that has been constructed within the scope of a campaign. The school is expected to be opened in the new education year.
The UNICEF representative will visit eastern province of Siirt and its Sirvan province on Wednesday.
