Cheney Expresses Desire To Cooperate With Turkey Against Terrorist PKK

ANKARA - Terrorist organization PKK was once again referred as "common enemy" during U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney`s talks in Ankara on Monday.
U.S. Vice-President Dick Cheney expressed a desire to cooperate with Turkey against terrorist organization PKK, said sources.
Turkish authorities and Cheney agreed on the need to eradicate PKK presence in north of Iraq and continue sharing of intelligence on PKK.
All talks between Turkish officials and Cheney described PKK as a threat to interests of Turkey, U.S. and Iraq. Cheney and Turkish authorities agreed that these three countries should continue cooperation against terrorist organization PKK in the future.
Sources told that Cheney thanked Turkey for its contributions to Afghanistan.
According to sources, Cheney made no specific request from Chief of Turkish General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit in regard to Afghanistan.
Diplomatic sources defined Cheney`s visit to Turkey as a new step in Turkish-U.S. relations which have an ascending trend.
