ISTANBUL - 270 art pieces of Salvador Dali, consisting of the artist`s oil paintings, sketches and graphics will be displayed in an exhibition to open at Sakip Sabanci Museum (SSM) in Istanbul.
A sponsorship agreement was signed on Monday between SSM and Akbank for the exhibition "A Surrealist in Istanbul: Salvador Dali" organized in association with Gala-Salvador Dali foundation.
Speaking at the signature ceremony Nazan Olcer, director of SSM, said they wanted to promote Salvador Dali to Turkish people with a series of events to take place under the exhibition which would take place between September 19th 2008 and January 19th 2009.
Meanwhile, Montse Aguer Teixidor, the curator of the exhibition, said photographs, handwritings and documents of the painter would be displayed along with his 33 oil paintings, 113 sketches and 123 graphic works at the exhibition.
