ANKARA - Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, President of Turkmenistan, said Monday his current visit to Turkey proves the development of brotherly relations between Turkey and Turkmenistan.
Speaking at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul at the Cankaya Palace in Ankara, Berdimuhamedow thanked Gul for the warm welcome and hospitality shown to him and his accompanying delegation.
"Our talks were fruitful. We discussed our brotherly relations within the framework of mutual respect and understanding," Berdimuhamedow indicated.
"We have both reached our goals that were set up earlier and had a successful visit to Ankara," Berdimuhamedow noted.
"Economic relations between Turkey and Turkmenistan are developing rapidly. Turkish companies operate successfully in Turkmenistan," Berdimuhamedow remarked.
"Thanks to the operations of Turkish companies, important industrial and social facilities have been constructed in Turkmenistan," Berdimuhamedow underlined.
"The agreements we have signed today will develop our bilateral relations in the fields of science and culture," Berdimuhamedow noted.
"Turkmenistan and Turkey favor global peace, security and stability. Our two countries fight against international terrorism, drug smuggling and other current threats," Berdimuhamedow also said.
Meanwhile, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan hosted luncheon in honor of Berdimuhamedow at the Prime Ministry Residence.
