Pace Supports Talks In Cyprus

STRASBOURG - Lluis Maria de Puig, chairperson of Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), said he welcomed the resumption of talks for the unification of Cyprus.
Issuing a press release, De Puig said reopening of the Lokmaci border-gate had a symbolic significance.
"Mutual trust is of vital importance for the beginning of talks. The symbolic step taken by the decision to open the Lokmaci border-gate can play an important role in the establishment of peace and accord," said De Puig.
De Puig said they would extend full support to initiatives under the auspices of the UN.
