Radical Waves, Cultural Racism, Violence And Intolerance Pose A Threat To Global Peace, Toptan

ISTANBUL - Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan said Monday radical waves, cultural racism, violence and intolerance pose a threat to global peace.
Toptan delivered a speech at the second extraordinary council session of Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Conference member states (PUOICM) in Istanbul on Monday.
"The PUOICM, which was established to promote solidarity among parliaments, develop cooperation among countries and find solutions to regional and international problems, has a special status in the Islamic world as an organization formed by the representatives of peoples," Toptan stressed.
"The need to preserve peace, tolerance and solidarity in a globe we all live in carries high importance," Toptan noted.
"Those who talk about the clash of civilizations need to look at the Istanbul model where individuals from different religious and cultural backgrounds live side by side," Toptan told.
"The whole world must understand how mosques, churches and synagogues live side by side in peace and dialogue in Istanbul," Toptan stated.
