LIE THAT PERSONAL BELONGINGS ARE IN THE COFFIN
There is a new scandal about the 62 Spanish soldiers who lost their lives a year ago when their plane crashed while it was about to land Trabzon Airport. The soldiers were from the Spanish Mission Force in Afghanistan.
No private belongings of the soldiers were given to the families of the soldiers except some identity cards and some money.
As Spanish authorities said, ''Turks put the personal belongings to the coffins according to Muslim traditions'', the reports revealed that 65 parcels of personal belongings were delivered to Spanish authorities.
Cemil Balcilar was one of the two prosecutors of Macka township who had gone to the spot together with gendarme on May 26. He said, ''we acted on the belief that even a ring or a photograph are very important for the suffering families. We even put broken mobile phones to the boxes.''
Spanish authorities took the parcels one month later which was sent with a cargo plane.

EXPORTS TO BE ACCELERATED WITH ''SILK ROAD FAIR''
Turkey will increase its exports by opening ''Silk Road Turkish Exports Products Fair'' in seven countries, seven capital cities and seven cities.
Turkish Justice Minister and Government Spokesman Cemil Cicek said they prepared a new project to accelerate Turkey's exports and that State Minister Kursad Tuzmen announced the project in the Council of Ministers.
Stating that foreign trade and exports were the issues which Turkey focused on, Cicek said the more the country increases its exports, the more it will have the facility to solve its economic problems.
''It is obvious that we attribute importance to exports. Turkey displays a successful performance in exports. Turkey sells 17 thousand different goods to 140 countries,'' Cicek noted.

''SECURITY'' COURSE TO NEIGHBOR
Greek government decided to benefit from Turkey's experience in NATO summit to provide security in 2004 Olympic Games which will start on August 13.
Greek Minister of Public Order Georgios Voulgarakis came to Turkey to get information about the measures taken for NATO summit.
Greece accelerated efforts for organization as there is a short time for the Olympic Games which could be the target of terrorist organizations.
Greece wanted to learn studies of Turkey against probable terrorist activities.
Voulgarakis who arrived in Turkey on Monday evening together with a delegation, met Turkish Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu and Istanbul Governor Muammer Guler at dinner. Talks between the delegations of the two countries will take place today.
Voulgarakis will get information about the security measures taken in NATO Summit and about the activities of fundamentalist terrorist organizations.

NO INTEREST IN COURSE IN KURDISH LANGUAGE
The was not expected interest in course in Kurdish language in Batman province. Only 80 people were registered in the course having 480 student capacity.
Aydin Unesi, the founder and director of the course said the course strengthened peace and brotherhood. He said there were lawyers, engineers, tradesmen and students attending the course. Unesi said five teachers would supervise the course in the second term, stating that 76 students finished the course in the first term.
''There is an increase in the second term registrations. 80 people registered. Decrease in number of students is out of question. We believe that number of our students will rise in summer holiday,'' Unesi noted.

NO APPOINTMENT
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan politely refused the request of Israeli First Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who will visit Ankara today, for a meeting. Erdogan said he would be outside Ankara.
''Tension'' which continued for a while in Ankara-Tel Aviv line was also reflected in Olmert's visit.
Olmert's visit aimed at conveying three messages of his country to Erdogan: ''we are not in north of Iraq, we felt uneasy over your statement 'state terrorism' and expend support to our plan to withdraw from Gaza.''

ANOTHER TURKISH DRIVER KILLED
Another driver was killed in Iraq after the Turkish driver who was killed in Iraq last week.
Namis Said, Lieutenant colonel from Iraqi police, stated that the Turkish driver was killed in an explosion near Baici in north of Baghdad while going together with American military convoy.

DISTRESSED APPOINTMENT WITH ISRAEL
Israeli First Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert wants to meet with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as well as President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul.
It was reported that Erdogan expressed pleasure to meet Olmert if he arrived in Turkey a day or a few days earlier than he was scheduled to come.

THEY TURNED INTO WASTE WATER
Vast meadow, the quay and the picnic spot between Kucuksu and Goksu, which the western people described as , ''fresh waters of Asia'' had been the favorite places of residents of Istanbul.
Goksu and Kucuksu turned into waste water within a few years after being famous picnic spots for centuries. Goksu and Kucuksu are waiting for the refining project to be completed to turn to good old days.
Kucuksu and Goksu rivers, which had been the issue of songs with their beauty, are now issues of discussion with the waste water they bring to the straits.
Residents are complaining about the dirt and bad smell of the rivers. The residents also complain that Kucuksu Refinery Installation could not be finished, stating that nothing was done for the installation that was put to tender in 1999.

25 IRAQI TOURISTS TO SIDE TOWNSHIP
25 Iraqi tourists came to Side, one of the favorite resorts of southern Antalya province.
Ali Abdulmecit (24), who brought the Iraqi tourists, is one of the Turkmens who fled from Iraq in 2003.
Abdulmecit said new passports were started to be given on July 5, stating that he realized his dream by bringing the first group to Turkey.

REFUSING US IS LOSS FOR EU
Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said, ''Europe will lose in case a decision is taken in December which will disturb conscience.''
Gul stressed that Turkey's membership to the European Union (EU) was important both for the EU and Turkey.
Pointing out that Turkey met Copenhagen political criteria, Gul said democratization process still continued. Gul said he believed that EU Commission would assess those developments objectively and honestly.

INVITATION FOR TURKISH BUSINESSMEN TO VISIT SYRIA
Syrian Prime Minister Muhammad Naji al-Utri, who will visit Ankara today, said the aim of his visit was to further improve relations between the two countries.
Al-Utri said he would convey friendship and cooperation messages of their President to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Al-Utri said they target to open free trade areas between the two countries, stating that they would be pleased to see experienced Turkish businessmen in their country.

STARS OF FOOTBALL PREFER TURKEY FROM NOW ON
Rising graphic of Turkish football in the recent years was also reflected in quality of the foreign football players who were transferred.
Turkish soccer clubs, which embraced ordinary football players of the former Yugoslavia and Balkan countries in the end of 1980's, now that began to reach European standards.
Turkish football started to increase its quality with foreign coaches. Turkey from now on are among the list of countries which foreign football players prefer.

LAND MINE EXPLODES KILLING A SENIOR SERGEANT
One senior sergeant died and a soldier was wounded when a landmine planted by terrorist PKK/Kongra-Gel in Guclukonak Township in southeastern Sirnak province exploded.
The senior sergeant died when the landmine was exploded by terrorists with a remote control.
