ANKARA - Romanian Senate President Nicolae Vacaroiu said they extend full support to Turkey's European Union (EU) membership.
Vacaroiu met Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc. Following their meeting, they co-chaired meetings of Turkish and Romanian delegations. Later, Arinc and Vacaroiu held a joint press conference.
Noting that President Ahmet Necdet Sezer's visit to Romania last week yielded very positive results, Vacaroiu thanked Turkey's support to Romania's NATO membership.
Stressing that they were ready to fully support Turkey's EU membership process, Vacaroiu recalled that the accession talks between Romania and the EU would end in November.
Vacaroiu highlighted importance of efforts to further develop cooperation between Turkey and Romania under commissions of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC).
He invited Parliament Speaker Arinc to Romania.
Meanwhile, Arinc said in his said they had corroborate current perfect level of economic, social, commercial, cultural and tourism relations between Turkey and Romania.
Recalling that Turkey extended full support to Romania's membership to NATO, Arinc added that they expected Romania to support Turkey's EU process after becoming a member of the Union.
