NICOSIA (CIHAN) - The Greek Cypriot Administration deported ten Pakistani students from the country citing "state security" without waiting for a court decision.
One of the arrested students is reportedly a pilot and can fly Mirage and F-16 warplanes, the Greek Cypriot daily Fileleftheros said on Monday. The same paper claimed that one of the students was even an expert on SAM missiles.
The CIA, Greek Cypriot Intelligence Service and Pakistan Intelligence Service have been collaborating on the matter of a Pakistani student, 29, attending the private collage. The Pakistani student reportedly worked for the Pakistan Air force.
Despite political asylum requests from the students to the Greek Cypriot Administration, the Greek Cypriot Authorities deported four of them on Saturday and the remaining six on Sunday.
The students were deported by Greek Cypriot police who defined them as persons non-granta. Police also informed Greek Cypriot President Tasos Papadopulos on issue.
Fileleftheros claimed that the ten Pakistani students were plotting an attack not in Cyprus but abroad.
