Rehn Welcomes Agreement Between Talat And Christofias

BRUSSELS - European Commissioner for enlargement Olli Rehn said on Friday they welcomed the agreement between President Mehmet Ali Talat of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias in regard to start of comprehensive talks after 3 months within the scope of the good-will mission of the United Nations.
A statement by Rehn said the EU was ready to assist both parties and negotiations for a comprehensive solution.
"I look forward to walking across the Green Line at Ledra Street myself in the near future," Rehn said.
