Reopening Of Lokmaci Gate Revived Hopes Of Unification, Rupel

BRUSSELS - Dimitrij Rupel, EU Term President Slovenia`s Minister of Foreign Affairs, said he was pleased over the meeting between Mehmet Ali Talat, President of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Demetris Christofias, leader of the Greek Cypriot administration.
Issuing a press release on the matter on Friday, Rupel said reopening of Lokmaci gate revived hopes of unification in the island (Cyprus) which remained divided for decades.
Rupel regarded the meeting as a confidence inspiring step between the two parties, based on more concrete foundations.
