LEFKOSA - A bi-communal festival was organized in Guzelyurt town of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on Sunday.
The festival was held with cooperation of 30 Turkish Cypriot nongovernmental organizations from Guzelyurt and Lefke and Greek Cypriot organization ''Omorfo Movement for Solution and Reunification''.
TRNC Parliament Speaker Fatma Ekenoglu, Interior Minister Ozkan Murat, some deputies, some ambassadors in Greek Cypriot side, deputies from Greek Cypriot political parties and representatives from nongovernmental organizations participated in the festival.
Guzelyurt Development Association Chairman Hakan Kuntay said that 65 percent of Turkish Cypriots voted in favor of (UN Secretary General Kofi) Annan's plan for a comprehensive settlement of the Cyprus problem in simultaneous referenda, stressing that they showed their determination for ''a united Cyprus''.
Victor Haciavram, speaking on behalf of ''Omorfo Movement for Solution and Reunification'', demanded that a solution be found urgently to the Cyprus issue.
Haciavram said that the movement that has been established recently aimed at rapprochement with Turkish Cypriots, stating that they aimed at a solution under Annan's plan and improvement of bi-zonal and bi-communal federal solution that would reunify the island.
