AMSTERDAM - European Union (EU) Transportation Ministers meeting decided on Saturday to increase sea transportation in their meeting held in Dutch capital of Amsterdam.
EU transportation ministers will work to reduce bureaucratic hurdles and facilitate customs procedures in order to increase sea transportation.
Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim, who represented Turkey in the meeting, said that results of this meeting would contribute to future projects.
Besides ministers of 25 EU member states, ministers from Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and Norway, and EU Commissioner for Transport and Energy Loyola de Palacio also attended the meeting.
Yildirim is expected to return to Turkey this evening.
