ISTANBUL - Turkish Environment and Forestry Minister Osman Pepe returned from Azerbaijan to Turkey on Saturday.
Pepe, who went to Azerbaijan late on Wednesday as the guest of Azerbaijani Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Huseyngulu Bagirov, met Bagirov and stressed that two countries should improve their cooperation.
Turkish Environment and Forestry Minister Osman Pepe also met Azerbaijani Economic Development Minister Farhad Aliyev and discussed investment and cooperation opportunities.
Pepe, who was received by Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Murtuz Aleskerov, said Caucasus was very important for Turkey and they closely monitored developments in the region.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Prime Minister Artur Rasizade also received Pepe.
Pepe and Bagirov signed a Cooperation Agreement on Protection of Environment on Friday.
