President Sezer: Regional And International Developments Topped Agenda Of Our Talks With Romanian Officials

ANKARA - Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer said on Friday that regional and international issues topped the agenda of his talks with Romanian officials.
President Sezer returned to Turkey after completing his two-day state visit to Romania as the official guest of President Ion Iliescu.
Holding a press conference at Ankara's Esenboga Airport on his arrival, President Sezer recalled that he had held talks with the president, the prime minister, the speaker of the parliament and other high-level officials of Romania during his visit.
''We observed that both Turkish and Romanian sides have the political will to develop their bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. Our economic and commercial relations have progressed in recent months. Our trade volume increased to reach 1.8 billion U.S. dollars in 2003. According to official figures, Turkish investments in Romania also reached 428 million U.S. dollars,'' he said.
President Sezer added, ''I believe that this visit has helped to the betterment of our friendly relations with Romania.''
