ANKARA - The Monetary Policy Board of Turkish Central Bank did not change the short-term interest rates on Wednesday.
The board kept the overnight borrowing interest rate at 15.25 percent, and the overnight lending rate at 19.25 percent.
"It may take a longer time to achieve our inflation target due to the hike in food and energy prices and global uncertainties," the board said in the statement it released after its meeting in capital Ankara.
The board said the current level of short-time interest rates support fall in inflation.
"However, following reduction in interest rates will depend on developments in global markets, foreign demand, financial policy practices and other factors affecting the medium-term inflation outlook," the board also said.
