BEIJING - Turkish State Minister Mehmet Aydin, who is currently in China, asked for support from Chinese officials concerning Aegean province of Izmir`s candidacy to host EXPO 2015.
Aydin held a series of talks in Chinese capital of Beijing on Wednesday.
During his meeting with Vang Cincen, Vice-President of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Aydin pointed to the historical, geographical and cultural importance of Izmir.
Meanwhile Cincen, who is one of the 3 Chinese officials to vote for the selection of the host city of EXPO 2015, said that Izmir was both a historical and a new city, as well as a dynamic one.
Aydin is scheduled to hold talks with Chinese Ministers of Information Industry and Science & Technology in Beijing on Thursday.
