TRABZON - The Sarp Border Gate between Turkey and Georgia will be modernized soon.
Sadan Eren, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Executive Board member and Executive Board President of Chamber of Trabzon Commerce and Industry, told AA correspondent that an agreement pertaining to modernization of the border pass had been signed earlier.
"Actual economic, social and cultural relations between Turkey and Georgia will boost with the modernization of the border pass," Eren said.
"Foreign trade volume between Turkey and Georgia is approximately 800 million USD. We expect it to rise after the modernization of the border pass," he remarked.
Eren said modernization of the Sarp Border Pass is expected to be concluded in 12 months and cost 40.7 million YTL. (1 USD equals 1.23 YTL)
