KONYA - Islamic and Gulf countries are eager to invest in Turkey, Islamic Chambers Union deputy chairman Huseyin Uzulmez told AA on Wednesday.
Uzulmez said he attended a very productive meeting of Islamic Chambers Union in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
He said participants of the meeting discussed ways to boost and develop investments among Islamic countries, and he called on participants to invest in Turkey.
Islamic countries have many commercial projects including Turkey, Uzulmez said and added that it would be to Turkey`s interest to take part in those projects.
Uzulmez said, "Islamic countries have made very serious investments in Turkey. The amount of investments made by Islamic and Gulf countries in Turkey reached 8-10 billion USD in the last one year. It is an important figure. After several economic developments, Gulf countries set up 2 trillion USD of fund. This fund will directly be spent on investments."
