Erdogan: Export Figures Of 2004 Better Than 2003's

ANKARA - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday that Turkey's exports were increased in 2003, adding that it was estimated that export figures of 2004 would exceed 2003's.
Taking the floor at the general assembly of Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), he stressed that new Turkish lira (TL) would go into circulation on January 1st, 2005 as a result of the government's success in fight against high inflation.
Emphasizing the importance of exports for Turkey's economic growth and development, he said that this reality was better understood after economic crisis in February 2001. He said that's why the government attached a special importance to exports.
He underlined that Turkey could earn 60 billion U.S. dollars of income from exports in 2004.
