Industrial Production Increased

ANKARA - Industrial production increased by 16.5 percent in May of 2004 over the same period of previous year.
The State Institute of Statistics (DIE) announced on Thursday the monthly industrial production index.
As regards sub-sectors, manufacturing industry production increased by 17.7 percent; mining industry production rose by 12.6 percent; and electricity, gas and water production increased by 7.0 percent in May of 2004.
During the first five months of 2004, compared with the same period of the previous year, total industrial production increased by 13.2 percent.
