NEW YORK - Turkish-American Business Council (TAIK) Chairman Ferit Sahenk and Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu took the floor at "Turkey After 2008" conference organized by TAIK operating under the umbrella of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK) in New York on Monday.
Sahenk said there has been a great transformation in Turkish economy and the country`s EU adhesion process played an important role in this transformation.
"We changed our constitutional infrastructure, we changed our mentality and we also changed the way of making business," Sahenk said.
Small and medium enterprises became growth engines of the country, he said.
More foreign companies would invest in Turkey in the following period, Sahenk said.
On the other hand, Hisarciklioglu stated Turkey is located in a problematic geography, but businessmen made this situation an opportunity.
Turkey became an energy corridor and the energy sector is one of major components of a sound economic growth, he said.
Hisarciklioglu invited foreign companies to invest in Turkey, a country of opportunities.
