German Government Expresses Uneasiness Over Closure Case Against Ak Party

BERLIN - German government expressed its uneasiness over the case filed by the chief prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeals to close down the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party of Turkey.
Deputy government spokesman Thomas Steg told a news conference in Berlin that they found the case "incomprehensible" and said the case was also against President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The decision of the chief prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeals should also be regarded as the one against the will of Turkish people, Steg stated.
Steg said they expected the Constitutional Court not to approve the indictment.
