KONYA - Beet harvesters from Turkey have been reaping beets of Russia in the past two years.
Seyit Ozgen, executive of Panseker Cooperative in central Anatolian province of Konya, told A.A correspondent that 302 combines worked on Russian soils last year.
"Number of combines working in Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine are around 500. Russia is a very positive market in this respect," Ozgen said.
Ozgen said Turkish farmers have been harvesting the beet of Russia in the past two years upon their demand. "Russia manufactures 3 million tons of beet annually. Its demand is around 6.5 million tons. Russia started to launch initiatives to supply the deficiency."
