TARGOVISHTE - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday, ''Turkish entrepreneurs have been exerting great efforts to take their place in Bulgarian markets.''
Together with State Minister Besir Atalay, and Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler, Prime Minister Erdogan attended foundation-laying ceremony of a factory of the Turkish Sisecam Company in Targovishte city of Bulgaria.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prime Minister Erdogan said, ''significant progress was made in economic and commercial relations between Turkey and Bulgaria in recent years. The trade volume between the two countries increased to 1.3 billion U.S. dollars as of end-2003.''
''Investments of Turkish entrepreneurs in Bulgaria reached to 300 million U.S. dollars. Today, we gathered here to mark a significant development. This investment of Turkish Sisecam Company worth of 160 million U.S. dollars, will provide employment for 700 people. The factory will export 85 percent of its products to the other countries. It will make a valuable contribution to the Bulgarian economy, and further strengthen our friendly relations with Bulgaria,'' Prime Minister Erdogan added.
