WASHINGTON D.C. - Matt Bryza, the U.S. deputy assistant secretary of state for European & Eurasian Affairs, said Friday all parties should respect democratic institutions and rule of law.
Voters set the future of countries in democracies and Turkish voters made their preference in 2007, he told AA correspondent when commenting on the closure case filed against the ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party.
Bryza said they believe every one should respect democratic institutions and rule of law in Turkey.
This reflects the support they extend to democratic secularism in Turkey, he also said.
