Tobb Says Closure Of Political Parties Harms Turkey

ANKARA - Rifat Hisarciklioglu, the chairman of Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), said closure of political parties harms Turkey.
"Turkey is a democratic, secular and social state of law. These four principles, including democracy, are indispensable," Hisarciklioglu said in a statement late on Friday.
"Political parties are indispensable elements of democracy. Closing political parties harms Turkish democracy," he added.
He also said Turkey must focus on economy amid a turbulence in global markets, adding that everybody should act calmly in this time of period.
