Usual Procedures Will Be Followed In Lawsuit Filed For Closure Of Ak Party, Kilic

ANKARA - Hasim Kilic, chief judge of the Turkish Constitutional Court, said the same procedures followed in past lawsuits asking closure of other political parties will be followed in the lawsuit that was filed for closure of AK Party.
Speaking to reporters outside the Constitutional Court on Friday, Kilic said first the case file would be examined procedurally, and consecutively a record of approbation would be written. He said later the lawsuit petition would be sent to AK Party.
"AK Party will make a preliminary defence, and this will be sent to the Chief Public Prosecutor`s office. After the Chief Public Prosecutor states his views on the merits of the case, AK Party will make a verbal defense. This will be followed by verbal statements of the Chief Public Prosecutor. After the rapporteur assigned by the Constitutional Court writes his report on the merits of the case, an agenda will be set and the case will be concluded," said Kilic.
