Turkey Raises $779 Million Income Through Exports Of Hazelnuts

TRABZON - Turkey exported 199,775 tons of hazelnuts and earned 779,201,408 U.S. dollars in the 44th week of 2003-2004 hazelnut export season which started on September 1, 2003.
According to the data of Black Sea Hazelnut & Products Exporters' Association, Turkey had been exporting hazelnuts to 80 countries.
Turkey exported 156,381 tons of hazelnuts to the European Union (EU) countries, 24,363 tons of hazelnuts to other European countries, 11,923 tons of hazelnuts to overseas countries and 7,108 tons of hazelnuts to other countries.
In the same period of the previous export season, Turkey had exported 240,289 tons of hazelnuts and gained an income of 551,318,881 U.S. dollars.
