DAKAR - Turkish President Abdullah Gul met Thursday Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad in Senegal's capital of Dakar where the 11th Summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is taking place.
The two leaders discussed the fight against terror and affirmed the two sides' willingness to fight against terror.
Sources told that Ahmadinejad informed Gul on Iran's struggle against PEJAK, a sister organization of the terrorist PKK.
On the other hand, Gul gave information to Ahmadinejad on the recent ground operation that was launched by Turkish Armed Forces against terrorist organization PKK in north of Iraq.
Meanwhile, during Gul's meeting with Iraqi Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi, the issue of Turkish Armed Forces' recent ground operation in north of Iraq came up.
Al-Hashimi told Gul that "Iraq understands Turkey's right to stage a ground operation".
