LEIPZIG - "International Leipzig Book Fair" (Leipziger Buchmesse) has kicked off in German city of Leipzig on Thursday.
Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry opened a Turkish pavilion at the fair where numerous books by Turkish writers are presented.
Turkish writer Feridun Zaimoglu read extracts from his books, while a movie adapted from Turkish novelist Ahmet Umit's book "Sis ve Gece" (Fog and Night) was screened on the first day of the fair.
Umit, as well as Turkish writers Celil Oker, Tanil Bora and Asu Aksoy will read chapters from their books throughout the fair as well.
Leipzig Book Fair, whose leading topic is "Croatia" this year, will stay open till March 16th.
