Turkish C.B. Puts Account Deficit At 3.93 Bln Usd For January

ANKARA - Turkish Central Bank said Thursday that country's current account deficit rose by 28 percent in January 2008 over the same period last year to reach at 3,934 million USD from 3,074 million USD.
The bank cited a 44.1 percent increase in foreign trade deficit as the main reason for the hike despite "favorable developments in services account, income account and current transfers."
