MERSIN - Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said on Thursday that the ratio of women employers to total number of employers in Turkey is a mere 6.1 percent, which is a very low figure.
Tuzmen took the floor at the "Mersin 1st International Businesswomen's Forum".
He noted that the ratio of women entrepreneurs who set up business on their own is 13.8 percent, adding that this figure is very low, and Turkey remains behind industrialized countries.
Tuzmen also noted, "Mersin --with its trade volume of 15-16 billion USD and its private port-- has a bright future and its trade volume will soon reach 20 billion USD ."
