MADRID - "Yasamin Kiyisinda" (The Edge of Heaven), a film by Turkish director Fatih Akin, will be screened in Spain as of Friday.
Spanish media showed a remarkable interest in the movie, which received the best scenario award at the 60th Cannes Film Festival and a critical prize at the European Film Festival held in Seville, Spain.
"It is a movie expected by Spanish cinema lovers for a long time," Spanish press said.

The Edge of Heaven, directed by Fatih Akin, is starred by Tuncel Kurtiz (Ali Aksu), Nursel Kose (Yeter Ozturk), Patrycia Ziolkowska (Lotte Staub), Hanna Schygulla (Suzanne Staub), Nurgul Yesilcay (Ayten Ozturk) and Baki Davrak (Nejat Aksu). It tells the story of six people who are connected to each other by fate and come together following a death.
Akin was born in 1973 in Hamburg and began studying Visual Communications at Hamburg`s College of Fine Arts in 1994. He is best known for his 2003 film "Duvara Karsi" (Head-On/Gegen die Wand) which won a Golden Bear at the Berlinale and received other German and European Film Awards.
