ANKARA - 7 airline companies are active in Turkey, according to data compiled from Civil Aviation General Directorate. These are: Turkish Airlines, Onur air, Atlas Jet, Pegasus, Gunes Express, Syk Ay Havacilik and Cyprus Turkish Airlines.
MNG Airlines Cargo, Kuzu Airlines Cargo and ACT airlines are the three air cargo companies.
While the number of charter companies is 9, there are 59 air taxi companies that own 259 aircraft.
The number of aircraft owned by institutions and companies for other private purposes under the "General Aviation" category is 126.
On the other hand, a total of 10 companies operate hot air balloons. The number of balloons these companies own is 41.
