Number Of European Tourists Visiting Turkey To Be Up This Year, Simsek

ANTALYA - Volkan Simsek, chairman of the Professional Hotel Managers` Association (POYD), said Thursday the number of European tourists visiting Turkey will be up at least 10 percent in 2008.
"Tour operators have sold 25-30 percent more Turkey holidays in the first three months of this year over the same period of the previous year," Simsek told AA correspondent in Mediterranean province of Antalya which he defined as the heart of Turkish tourism.
Simsek said people from 150 countries are preferring Antalya as a tourist destination.
"Almost 90 percent of European tour operators are directing their customers to Turkey," he also said.
