LEFKOSA - ''Any government formula cannot be operational in the long term, so early election is the way out'', Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Democrat Party (DP) Executive Board said on Tuesday.
DP issued a written statement and said Central Executive Board convened under the chairmanship of DP leader Serdar Denktas and discussed the situation which erupted in the government following resignation of three parliamentarians.
The statement said, ''DP Central Executive Board discussed possible government formulas taking into consideration the current parliament structure. It has been decided that any formula can not be operational in the long term and early election is the way out.''
The statement said the recommendatory decision that has been taken would be resulted on July 12 in party group meeting.
The DP executives expressed their conviction that all political parties should reach a compromise for the date of elections.
Republican Turkish Party (CTP) on Monday offered Republican Parliament to hold early elections on September 26.
