ISTANBUL - NRW.INVEST, a company that helps Turkish entrepreneurs in North Rhine Westphalia state of Germany, inaugurated a representation in Turkish commercial hub of Istanbul on Wednesday.
This makes North Rhine Westphalia the first German federal state to have its own representation in Istanbul.
"There are 24,000 companies run by Turks in our state, and 13,000 of them are situated in Ruhr region which we define as the coal region," Christa Thoben, the state`s economics minister, said during a reception hosted at the German Consulate General in Istanbul.
Matthias Ludwig Bogislav von Kummer, the German Consul General in Istanbul, said Turkish businessmen can invest in Germany through this representation, whereas NRW.INVEST GmbH Managing Director Petra Wassner said there are 150 companies that come from Turkey and invest in their state.
"The representation will support those who want to come from Turkey and invest in our state," Wassner also said.
NRW.INVEST GmbH supports foreign and German companies with investment projects and in establishing their businesses in North Rhine Westphalia, throughout the entire set-up process. It offers support for investment project.
The aim of the new representative office is to intensify the direct contacts to the Turkish economy, associations, institutions, chambers, and politicians. NRW.INVEST Turkey also offers potential investors from all sectors individual service - from information on markets, locations or investment conditions to practical assistance with concrete settlement projects.
