DAKAR - Turkish Foreign Minister & Chief Negotiator for EU talks Ali Babacan visited Wednesday Yavuz Selim, a Turkish school, in Dakar, capital city of Senegal.
Speaking at the school, Babacan, who attended foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) member states in Dakar, said, "Turkey should make investments in every African country."
Babacan said, "students, who are graduates of this school, will form bridges between Turkey and Senegal throughout their lives. This is in the interest of Turkey and Senegal. Turkey will open ten representations in Africa this year."
"Turkey is a rapidly developing country. Turkey is eager to be one of the ten biggest economies of the world in 2023. I earlier visited Mauritania. NGOs took the first step there. There is Turkish school there and Turkish students are educated there. There are opportunities and Turkey should take advantage of it," Babacan said.
Babacan will attend OIC summit together with Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Thursday.
The summit will continue till March 14th.
