ANKARA - Oguz Demiralp, Turkey`s secretary general for the EU, said Wednesday EU project will be the best legacy Turkish people can leave to their children.
"Turkey is a party to many international conventions on children, but it has to do more in implementation," he told a seminar on children`s rights organized by Turkish Secretariat General for the EU and the European Commission.
On the other hand, Marc Pierini, the head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Turkey, said the commission welcomes the progress recorded by Turkey in reforms regarding children`s rights.
Pierini said Turkey is working to eliminate child labor and diminish the differences between participation of girls and boys in education.
The EU is not in Turkey to lecture, but it is in Turkey to share its good and bad experiences, he told.
