ISTANBUL - Head of influential Turkish businessmen`s association urged the government to bring more clarity on how Turkey`s relations with IMF would continue in the future.
"Turkey`s deal with the IMF will expire in May 2008, the time when a global economic uncertainty and instability are most probably would make a peak. Given these circumstances, continued ties with the Fund will be a major security for our country and there is a need for a clear road map on how the relations with the IMF would continue," said Arzuhan Dogan Yalcindag, chairwoman of the Turkish Industrialists` and Businessmen`s Association (TUSIAD).
Yalcindag also called for "immediate measures" to be able to brace the upcoming global wave of low growth and high inflation with "minimum damage".
"We should devise policies that would put Turkey back on the track of low inflation and high growth," Yalcindag told an Istanbul meeting held by international accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers.
