Turkey And IMF At Stage Of Combining Two Reviews, Simsek

ANKARA - Turkish State Minister Mehmet Simsek said Wednesday Turkey and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have come to the stage of combining the remaining two reviews.
"We hoped to complete the seventh review earlier, but we are now at the stage of uniting the last two reviews since some reforms are made slower than we expect," he told a joint press conference with State Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Nazim Ekren and Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan in capital Ankara.
Simsek said the government will make a statement about the matter in coming days.
On the other hand, Simsek said social security reform is a must, and qualified it as a "critical" reform.

-NO NEW TAXES-
Also speaking at the same press conference, Unakitan said his ministry has prepared a bill to lift the inheritance tax, and sent it to the Prime Minister`s Office.
"We do not think of imposing new taxes, but we think of increasing the number of tax payers," he also said.
