ANKARA - Turkish Justice Minister Cemil Cicek met Azerbaijani Justice Minister Fikret Mamedov on Monday.
Cicek told reporters after the meeting that cooperation on legal field was a basis for development of relations on other fields and thus Turkey attributed great importance to its cooperation with Azerbaijan.
Noting that they aimed to develop cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan on every field, Cicek said that they would exchange views to further improve relations.
Cicek said that Mamedov will also meet supreme court judges.
Noting that Azerbaijan has adopted very important legal arrangements , Cicek said that Azerbaijan even established regional courthouses before Turkey which is still working on the issue.
Recalling that Azerbaijan and Turkey were members of the Council of Europe, Cicek said that Turkey made very significant changes on legal issues regarding the European Union (EU).
Mamedov said on the other hand that Azerbaijan will exchange views with Turkey to develop cooperation on judicial matters.
