LEFKOSA - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas said on Monday that he does not have any information about the withdrawal of Turkish troops from Cyprus.
Upon a question about the proposal which was allegedly made by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan by suggesting the withdrawal of 5 thousand troops from Cyprus and handing over Maras to the United Nations, in return for opening Gazimagosa Port to trade, Denktas said he was not informed about the issue.
When recalled the statement of TRNC Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat who said, ''two new border passes will be opened in Lefkosa and Guzelyurt'', Denktas said, ''as far as I know, a decision was taken on opening just one border pass in Guzelyurt region.''
