CUNGUS - Nearly 2 thousand people attended a demonstration in Cungus Township in southeastern Diyarbakir province on Monday to curse terrorism.
People coming from nearby townships and villages chanted slogans saying, ''Damn Terrorism, Welcome to Peace and tranquility'' and ''Cungus Condemns Terrorism''.
Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Provincial Deputy Chairman said opening of new factories one after another did not suit to the interests of terrorists, stating that, ''it should be known that people do not want terrorism.''
Meanwhile, Turkish Young Businessmen Association (TUGIAD) Executive Board Chairman Murat Sarayli issued a written statement saying , ''we condemn terrorism, and we call on international community to cooperate more strongly with Turkey.''
Stressing that they condemned terrorist attacks aiming at disrupting stability and peace in the country, Sarayli said, ''there is no power that may prevent strengthening and democratization of Turkey. Turkey has not bowed to terrorism which claimed 35 thousand lives in the past 20 years, and will not bow in the future. Our government will not tolerate the chaotic atmosphere which terrorist organizations tried to impose.''
