ANKARA (CIHAN) - Turkish Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gül rejected a lunch invitation from the freed ex-MPs of the now defunct pro-Kurdish Democracy Party (DEP).
The invitation from the four former deputies arrived in the Turkish Foreign Ministry while Gül was in Lebanon. The Turkish Foreign Minister rejected the invitation without citing a reason. The Foreign Ministry will not send an official representative to the meeting that will be given to EU ambassadors in Ankara by the Ex-MPs of the DEP.
Foreign Minister Gül had been criticized for receiving the ex-MPs of the DEP following their release.
Ten members of the Turkish ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) had released a statement criticizing Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül for receiving the released former DEP deputies.
